Default scrubbing in.

Anyone know what it would take to scrub tyres in by hand? I mean sth like using a detergent mix and some kind of abrasive pad. ??

It's not about getting the shiny bit off, it's about getting heat into the tyres to do the final curing.

When was the last time you saw a racer doing 50 miles of scrubbing in after fitting new tyres - they just stick them in warmers and get them nice and hot.

You can scrub them with detergent and sandpaper all you like, but you're wasting your time.

I didn't realise it was a heat thing. I can only recall the surface coating of new tyres being referred to in previous threads ,
Thanks
