Well I lost the restriction a little over a year ago (oh my that long :S). When I phoned the DVLA (just before i lost the restriction) I phoned them up to ask if i needed to send in my licence to get the restriction removed, they said no it shows you have passed the test oer 2 years ago, all should be fine.
Now after reading about the police pulling plowsie and noticing that he still had a restriction on him and asking about it would they notice if looking at mine that I am no longer on the restriction even though it is on the licence it clearly shows that I passed the test just over 3 years ago.... I can always point this out of course but it might cause confusion. I know there are some plods on here so any help would be appreciated! PS Id rather not send the licence in as it costs money (FOR WHAT!?) and id get it back as a provisional... in reference to the problems people were having with DVLA and licences a while back, losing parts and having to re do tests ![]() |

I would have thought this is fine as the licence does show this, but some cops are stupid, and don't know traffic law so you may have to point this out to them, I had clear up somone's mess the other day, I tend to do that with traffic stuff, espically if bikes are involved.
I will find out for sure thouhgh, but I 99% sure I'm right. |

I am in the same position, I am no longer in the restriction, but my licence still shows <25kw.
Im hoping it wouldnt be a problem if i got stopped, but it may be a bit of a hassle. |

My mate took his restricted and on his they off set the 'A' for 2 years,
so the 'A1/A2' runs from test pass, and full 'A' 2009 onwards Am i making sense? |

Mine says less than 25 kW aswell, but there is a date from when the liscence started, so i can argue that. I'm worried about sending my lisence off in the summer (july 12th, woo!!!!!), so I'll keep it and if I get stopped, then I shall just have to argue my point.

why worry, a quick phone call to the DVLA if you get a dumb cop will square them away. We all know after 2 years from the pass its full power.
