Default Hein Gericke advice please

Hi all,

I know some people have worked at, and some still do, HG and wondered if I could get a bit of advice.

I went to the Stockwell branch on Dec.27th to get new kit- I ordered the Tricky jacket and trousers and got a pair of boots. The boots were in the store at the time, but the (very helpful) lady ordered the rest from other stores for me.

The trousers turned up the following week, but I'm still waiting for the jacket- I've been told that there is huge demand for the jacket and that it's difficult chasing the suppliers due to the language difference (ie they don't seem to have appropriate people in the supply chain who are multilingual).

As it's been over a month (which is more than a reasonable time to wait), I really need to know if there's anyone else I can speak to to expedite this- I don't want a refund, just the jacket.

So- is this normal for HG, or am I receiving a worse than usual service?

I'll be chasing this week- I was promised a call back the same day, almost 2 weeks ago, so I've got ammo already to demand an improvement.

I'm sure if I'd ordered off the website (had to go and try on sizes etc), I would have had a bit more update than I've had so far.

Cheers

D

I work for hg, all our stock now comes from germany-hence the time taken and language barrier.
Tricky suit is one of our top selling suits so yes there is a shortage.
Its not "normal" but it is.....we have to wait for germany to get the stock in and then shipit to us, so there can be a wait.
And no you wouldnt have any more of an update had you ordered off teh website as they just take the stock from the UK shops and get us to send it to you.

Paws, or any other HG peeps on here... would you happen to know what the warranty with Arai helmets is like?

The lining in mine has started coming away (annoyingly it's at the cheek pad, and I can't help but notice it sticking out when wearing the helmet!), lid's about 4/5 months old, with less than average use (Couple of times a week at most)

Is this something I should a) stop whinging about, it happens or b) take it back to HG?

Would they likely just swap it or do you normally have to send stuff away for Warranty claims?

Thanks very much if you can help!

Cheers
JM

James-Arai have a 5 year limited warrenty, take it back to hg and they will send it back to arai to be fixed BUT they will only repair it once f.o.c as the usual cause for that is that your stuffing your gloves in the lid, the velcro pulls the lining and there ya go...
Get it repaired and DONT PUT YOUR GLOVES IN IT!!-also applies to the chin strap-that gets frayed due to it being pulled by gloves velcro, again arai will only replace it once f.o.c
Will take about a week (depends how busy arai are) and yes they can send you a loan helmet while yours is away.

Eeeeeeeeeeeek!!!

Guilty yer honour!!!

I'll maybe try & stuff it back in again for now and send it away if/when it gets any worse.

I consider my wrists wholly slapped in the meantime, and will stop using my lid as a glove carrier!!

Thanks for the advice, JM

In my case it would not be the gloves, but my very stubbly face, never put gloves in the helmet, after all it means your putting road grime in something thats goes on your head.

Is it a Condor? My old one did that, they sorted it good as new for free (through a HG branch )
