Default 15 points! or not

I don't know how to react to this. I'm sort of understanding but the anger keeps coming through. How would you react?

Someone I know well and care about (s'ok not a biker and not on here) has 9 points on their license for speeding (3 x 3).

She got done by a camera for another 3, and persuaded her son to 'take' them on his provisional license. She's now got another 3 by camera and had persuaded my daughter to 'take' them. So in reality that's 15 in 18 months
I've tried to explain to her that at the very least she needs to slow down, get sensible and work out where the cameraa are. But no she's paid out for some sat nav type system to warn her when the cameras are about.

This makes me so cross. I'm no saint but sometimes I think that a lesson should be learnt.
Or am I being a bit sanctimonious?

is getting sombody else to take the points, more illagal than the speeding?

she should be ashamed to have to ask other people to take the points, but i also think that her son/your daughter are to blame for letting her get away with it

Complete stupidity, surely she should have learnt to look for them by now.

Considering how many cameras actually contain a camera and film, then how many must she have missed?

I agree with you on this in a way but there is quite a bit of emotional blackmail involved, and it was very difficult for them to say no

Any person who had persuaded one of my children to take points for them and blemish their licence would no longer be a friend of mine.

No ifs, no buts, no maybes.

Not worth letting it get to you, it's happened now and the only way to correct things would drop your daughter in the brown stuff.
All I can say is emphasise the fact to any "potential" volunteers that taking points for others is a waste of time as when/if they get genuine points it will look even worse on their license, and up the costs for any future insurance.
