I was leaving my house, about 10 seconds into my trip theres a 90deg left hander, I went around it between 15-20mph, started to acellorate out of the corner and the rear spun out. I somehow didnt high side and the bike spun a full 180degs!! then fell over!
![]() No damage, except a tiny scrape on the R&Gs, so glag they were there! I can only think it was down to cold tires and road, maybe i was decieved by the bright sun thinking the road would be warmer. Or maybe there was some WD40 on my rear tyre from when I cleaned it?? ![]() oh well, no harm to me or the bike, lesson learned. bit of dent in the old ego though!! |

no damage to me, I hopped off as it was falling.
Im abit shocked that it happened though, Ive been riding for 6 years and this is the 1st time ive ever properly lot the rear. Ive felt it slide afew times and caught it, but nothing like that! |

I have the standard Dunlop tyres and I last managed to get out last Saturday. Anyway. I turned from the little brick paved courtyard area onto the small side road (which goes onto a main road) and gave it a few revs and then backed off and the back tyre was all over the place.
Cold weather is an issue but I do wonder how good the standard Dunlops are Suzuki fit. They seem to slide around easily. |

Come on people....going around a corner with cold tyres, when the roads are wet/greasy, really should mean a bit of common sense with the throttle!

ASM, sometimes you have to experience things for yourself before you learn.

Bummer, glad it's just the ego damaged.
I need to watch all the time when I leave the house. In the space of a quarter mile i have a 90 right up hill. An off camber down hill roundabout followed by another eccentric roundabout. Beyond that in the first mile or so on my commute to work, I have another 5 roundabouts. Cheers |
