Is it just me or does anyone else have non-bikeloving friends who insist on sending pics of graphic bike accidents at every opportunity??? Obviously these are sent in the hope that i`ll "see sense" and give up my bike but the one I recieved tonight really upset me. Below is a pic of the bike which crashed at high speed into the back of a truck... obv a kawasaki but what is it??? I won`t post the pics of the rider (R.I.P. whoever the poor soul is) but the investigators say evidence shows he was going about 120 miles per hour at the time of the impact.
"It took the truck driver more than a quarter of a mile to come to a stop. When he did, he stepped out of his rig and found the motorcyclist dead at the back of his truck. He said that the impact was so strong that he thought he was hit from behind by another truck!!!" I still can`t get the image of these pics out of my head, they`re not particularly gory but there`s something so disturbing about them that the image will prob keep me awake all night, I really wish my friends wouldn`t do this. I`m in the position that i`m trying to regain my confidence after a 2 year break from biking following an accident that could (and according to some should) have killed me or at the very least left me with a broken back. I really wish people wouldn`t do this cos I want to enjoy my bike and they`re really not helping me ![]() ![]() |

Then they are not really your friends if they are trying you get you to change who you are just to fit in with their own perceptions of what is 'safe' or 'normal' .
It's your life, live it as you choose. |

When I started riding nearly everyone told me it was dangerous and 75% of people had a story to tell me of someone who had been hurt or killed.
When I read about and mention accidents to my brother-in-law who I ride out with, he asks me why do I read such articles. He has a point. You don't want to think about accidents before or during riding. |

Personaly I don't like hearing about bike accidents and deaths. Puts you in the wrong frame of mind for riding. That's why I never look at big apes stupid wear your leathers thread

I think you're out of order. There's a hell of a difference between sending someone pictures (with dubious motives) of a smashed up bike on which someone lost their life, and posting an informative thread on why you should go out properly kitted up. It's only 'stupid' if you don't. Anyway, at 18,456 views, a lot of folks don't agree with you, me included.
