A spokesman for the road safety charity Brake said: "This story shows us that the culture of excessive speed, combined with a reckless disregard for the safety and lives of others, worryingly extends to some police officers."

Once again, BRAKE, you can **** off This was nothing to do with speeding. I hate those guys.

So he was doing "legitimate speeds for emergency responses," and all he's done wrong was stick his thumbs up at a scamera?

BRAKE? Yeah, driving at 30mph everywhere can't possibly hurt anyone, so long as you're not speeding then it's perfectly safe! Observations? Nah, if you're doing 30 no need to worry! F###ing eejits.

Basically he was done for driving with no hands on the steering wheel - thats IT.

But to lose your license for that? F@#$ing politics!

TBH there is too much wieght placed behind speeding being dangerous. Numerous times its been shown that this ISNT the case...(30mph with pedestrians maybe an exception) Its annoying that these groups that have nothing better to do condem it instead of working on the police to enforce trully dangerous acts mobile phones/drink driving and general bad driving.

TBH this case with the police man is taking the **** so I agree he get his **** kicked. Dangerous driving there, no hands? IDIOT.

Totally agree with you on that. Despite going down the road at speeds that would see any normal driver instantly banned, all his concentration is on posing to the camera. Not only that but he decides to take both hands off the wheel to do it. I fully understand that he was within his rights to do those speeds, but whilst doing them, you would expect his eyes to be out on stalks looking for potential hazards and every ounce of his concentration on the road ahead not getting ready for a pose for a camera.

If he loses his job it will be a good example for other police drivers.

I really dispear when I see stuff this like, but there are some cow boys at wheel, doesn't help the overall image does it eh?

As for brake, well its probally staffed by a PC tossers who know bugger all about speed and how how much of an impact it has it crashes, they have to work somewhere I guess.

If that was anyone else with one hand off the wheel you would get done.Eating a sandwich or whatever. No hands is not in control of the vehicle. Why not make an example of him? about the police were done for something better than the one rule for us one rule for them.
I agree the BRAKE comments are just stupid they have to perpetuate the myth that speeding is dangerous or they would have nothing to do.
