Default Whats in a Number (Plate)

Just had something brought to my attention.

I am getting an 08 bike, due to arrive in the next week.

However, 08 plates are not due until a week on Friday.

Should I just get the bike on a 57 plate, or wait for an 08?

Theoretically I may not be able to get the bike until Monday if it isn't delivered to the shop until Friday - which could be the case given the possible lead times.

So then it would just be 4 days waiting.

I have the Hire Bike until at least next Tuesday, so may only be 2 days without a bike, maybe only 1 and maybe even not without at all.

Opinions please, in fact lets make a poll of it

For the resale value - yes, wait, like others have said. But if you get an 08 plate, then it looks like an 'O' 'B' and could end up reading something like:

GNO8

At least with 57, you're safe!

What are you getting BTW?

I'll have waited 7 weeks for mine on an 08 plate. It's driving me nuts.

So you can wait 4 days Get the bus
