Getting some knackered plastics for track use for the Daytona and am getting this rear cowl as part of the deal:
I was wondering if it's easy enough with a fibre glass kit an some sticky backed plastic to turn it into a beautiful single seat cowl doobrie thing. Maybe paper mache to make a mould, fibre glass and a filler topping. What do you all think? |

Errrr...... not quite, but if you were to make a former from wood or a bloke of polysterine the shape of the cowl you wanted then, lay that up with fibreglass to make a decent mould, it wouldn't be hard, yo could match it to the plastic bace and bond it on.
Cheers Mark.

How much would it be to buy one? Are you quite a hands on type of person? If this was me I owuld just spend ages trying to do it, make a big mess and then end up buying one anyway!

VERY VALID POINT !!!! Pointy rear side panel is ?80 I have spent much more than that trying to get a decent repair/finish on my busted one. Sometimes just buying new makes more sense....

100 big ones for a seat cowl but as this is a bit past it anyway and I already have a good one I thought I may as well have a go. Fair enough I might make a pigs ear of it or I might make it beautiful. One can only try. Reckon the polystyrene is the way forward. Will keep my eyes open for anything I can use to make the form and then get a kit off fleabay.
