Right,
First off I have to blame ASM Forever and Rubberduckofdeath for my change in tactics. I've cancelled my Street Triple order. ASM Forever made a valid point in that it will be very similar to the Hornet that I probably won't enjoy it anymore than I enjoy my hairnet. Curse his sense. So, my new plan is ........keeping the Hornet for best, buying a GS500 for winter hacking (already found a low miler for less than 2k) AND a..............Suzuki DRZ400 for off roading. Go me! So in fact, by having 3 bikes I'm saving money. Sssh, I like my logic. ![]() |

LMFAO.
![]() I do think having an off roader makes sense, as its something different. However the amount of people i know who have them, but rarely use them............. IMHO(although you seem to be paying attention so i'll keep going! ![]() You may as well keep using the Hornet as a day to day bike. Its a Honda so build quality/reliability should be good. Also you will enjoy riding the Hornet a lot more than a GS or another equivalent. By the time you have paid for the GS/servicing/insurance/consumables/tax etc, the costs don't make it worthwhile. I was considering getting a hack to suplement the R6, but the costs just don't add up. Why spend a few thousand on a hack, when i can just ride the R6. That few thousand can be better spent buying a new bike when it comes to sell the R6. Also i seem to remember Rictus saying you only end up riding your favourite one anyway. I say keep the hairnet and enjoy it and commute on it, then get a off roader if you want. ![]() |

for a laner, a reliable well known engine is a major plus. No shortage of folks on the trail who know how to fix em.
