Default Hi up leg boots?

can anyone recommend me some very waterproof boots. Criteria must be cheap-ish and that they need to sit quite high up the calf

reason being I have long legs and even though my nice new pants fit its the same old same old problem of them riding up and over the top(or out of) my boots. Kinda gets draughty and rain running inside.
Motocross boots are a tad toooooooo high, they look cool, but are completely daft idea

Very happy with my Alpinestars SMX waterproof boots. 8K miles now and no leaks.

Why impractical?

The have a pretty flat sole as its a wedge heel effectively, and have re-inforced/stiffend ankles and reinforcement where the boots would interact with the gear lever.

Would also allow you to get your foot flat even on tip-toes :P

She still has to try riding a bike with them on - but I figure they look fine

wedge heels i can't wear standing about. Whatever boots they are, cause they throw my back out. ( technically they are putting weight on flat but they're still tip toe style)I haven't worn anything like that since I did my back in 7 years ago.

I'm a bit of a bloke when it comes to bike boots.....lol
My alpinestar ones are ace, cause they're warm comfy and dry, but, unfortunaltely are too short in the leg.

Sorry but they look way too impractical to ride a bike in. Surely your feet would be at such an awkward angle due to the height of the heel?

What about the lack of protection in the toe area, you only have to think of Rictus and his grinding toe to see they might not cut the mustard. (Thats without mentioning they are hideous) Maybe i'm just a full on race boot lover and wouldn't settle for any thing else, there just doesn't look to me much protection in them.

I've come to the conclusion that I should either buy the taller version of my boots

or be really naughty and buy myself another pair of New Rocks, but ones that fit under my gear levers....just found these babies today!!!They are listed as bike boots

so which ones???
