Are you sure you have a Power Commander and/or instructions for a 2003-2006 model?
The 2003-2006 Power Commander is not the same one as the 2007-2008 Power Commander because of numerous changes Suzuki made to the SV-650 from 2006 to 2007. Check the part number of your unit with the ones shown on their own instructions. I installed a Power Commander on my 2007 model, and those instructions do say to tap into the pink/white wire of the throttle postions sensor (TPS). I just read the instructions on the Dynojet.com website for the 2003-2006 models, and that one says nothing about tapping into a pink wire on the TPS, but, instead, to just connect a couple of ready-made plugs so that the TPS ends up being wired in line with the Power Commander unit. Here's the 2003-2006 instructions from their own website: http://www.powercommander.com/downlo...eng313-411.pdf Here's the instructions for the 2007 model: http://www.powercommander.com/downlo...eng337-411.pdf Last edited by YZEtc; 24-03-08 at 04:08 PM. |

Maybe you should contact Dynojet and ask them if they're different for USA and UK.

There should be a blue splice in connector on the end of the wire so that the PC wire can be spliced into the TPS wire. The connector looks like the attached
make sure the connector cuts into the wires insulation so that there is a good connection other wise it will not run right |

do you need an pc if you have a new exhaust? or will the bike work fine without one?

I started off with this approach but couldnt get rid of a hesitation at 7000rpm I then added a K&N and a PC and the bike ran better all through the rev range With the PC I can also have a separate map for with/without the baffle for the can (I have a CCC) and again, there is a difference between the maps So the answer is no you dont "need" a PC but IMHO it is worth it to get the best from it in the same way as re jetting a carbed bike after fitting a new can/filter.
