So, you've got your sandwiches, a can of coke, a map and maybe a jumper. So what the hell else do these nutcases carry?!
I'll see troops of 10 or so ramblers all with massive rucksacks out on a day trip. I carried less when I went away for a year! |

they're used to wave at, and if they get in range poke, the oiks on horses and bikes who have the nerve to use the ~2% of the bridleway system you don't have exclusive access to...

Erm well waterproofs can take up a lot of room I guess, if some of them are birders too then they may be carrying a telescope of some description. Maybe a three course meal complete with giant flask of tea? Saying that he has a tent/sleeping bag with him so dunno. Do you think you get the rambler equivalents of weekend warriors? |
