Default I'm fairly devastated

Here's the picture-

bought a bit of steak. Some taters and a carrot. Plan was- steak marinaded in spices, smoked tabasco and red wine, roast potatoes, onion rings and carrots.

So- got the taters in, steak sitting in all the spicey/winey goodness. Carrots starting on the boil. Grill all warmed up, onion rings done (nicely) and keeping warm.

Picked up the steak in the tray to put under the grill and....

dropped the f**ker right onto the kitchen floor (which ain't too clean at the mo, I can tell you),

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I was really looking forward to it- it smelled gorgeous in all it's marinaded glory. Absolutely gobsmacked at....

A) the lost carnovore hit (God it smelled good- did I mention that yet?)
B) My absolutely stupid, absent minded clumsiness.

I accept the blame - didn't hold the tray with the steak in properly- hence I dropped it.

It's clearly been one of those days- got flashed by a Gatso (Here's hoping) and a popper has broke on my bike jacket (the neck popper)- only had it 3-4 months (to be dealt with tomorrow).

However- there is a positive side to all this.

A few years ago (about 6), I dropped a particularly tasty fry up on the floor- a bit of the plate was over the edge of the table, I dug in, the plate tipped- you can see what happened.

In my frustration (I was a bit moody beforehand), I went to punch one of the cushions on the back of the sofa. Except I ended up punching between the cushions and therefore the radiator behind the sofa....

...and broke a knuckle.... There's still a gap on my right hand where the knuckke used to be.

So- I'm clearly a little more mentally balanced right now as I managed not to give in to the reptilian brain this time avoided any injuries- though it did involve pacing the flat a little, swearing and deciding that deep down, I really must hate myself.

So- I'm keeping a positive mindset, and have some lovely red wine to sedate myself.

But I was gutted. It smelled sooooo goood! I'll have to try again tomorrow...

That is all.

thank you for listening.

Dude! Just use more wine to give it a rinse off!

We had a very good BBQ, pork kebabs marinaded in mustard, wine vinegar and honey, and some more pork kebabs done in herbs, garlic and chili. Roasted onions, also on BBQ, salad and a glass of beer from the fridge.

Nice.

I would have just washed it off, re-soaked it and cooked it, after all the cooking will burn away any germs.

Too late- binned it. Managed to let it go- both physically and spiritually (the taoist in me!).

The rest of it was fairly tasty though...
