further to my last thread here: http://forums.sv650.org/showpost.php...9&postcount=16
i can't seem to get the sump plug bolt or filter nut loose. They won't budge and I've broken about 4 tools whilst attempting to get these feckers out. Does anyone have any good tips for getting these out before I murder someone (probably the bast who designed these fixings)... ta pt6

IIRC there's a filter nut tool (but I might be wrong).
I'd try both with a warm engine, to be honest. Better changing the oil that way, too. |

Did you sort this Paul ? Ive got a filter removal tool ( large socket that fits the end of the filter to turn it ) if you need to borrow it text me in the morning and I can pop it over for you. I`l PM my mob. number to you.

In the end I fecked it off and went to see sex in the city movie. I remember the mantra righty tighty lefty loosey but completely disengaged the conversion when it comes to upside down bolts
![]() luckily the sump bolt didn't rotate at all, the oil filter turned about half a turn so we'll have to see. I'll give you a shout if i get stuck graham - thanks in advance!

Mine was a bitch on the prilla. Must be some people love to over tighten them so no oil EVER comes out... Sigh. Just pull and pull as hard as you can untill it lets go all of a sudden and you skin your knuckles. Thats what I did.

I did wonder if you were having that much trouble. I hope you haven't caused any mischief by tightening it up too much.
Now for the important question: why the hell did you watch SITC? Horrible girly flick that it is! |

Do you have a ratchet? Always the best tool to use in these situations, as you can check whether it's set to do up/undo before you get under the bike.
