Default Motorcycle Tax to double

Apparently...........

I cant actually find anywhere other than bike forums saying its true but there is one of those petitions against it online

I signed it not that its likely to stop anything.

Nah, it's not true at all, they've messed up the numbers (deliberately or not, who knows). 125cc tax is frozen next year at £15, and 150-400 is going up by £1 to £33, they've mixed the two together to get this "double".

Please no one else sign up!

I didnt think it was true, as I couldnt find anything to back it up.

But if it was it may have been worth signing.

It's all peanuts anyway, compared to the grand it'll cost me to tax and insure the car next year.

No it still wouldn't have been as I don't think they listen to those petitions.

Its a goverment website and they have to reply......they listened and the PM made reference to the website when 2 million people signed the road charging scheme petition on that website.

Thing is tho, to date, the reply has been variations on the theme of

"We know better than you, bog off"

Why sell it? The grand it costs to insure & tax is peanuts compared to what I've splurged on bikes in the last 12 months. Should I sell those too?

My point is that 60-odd quid to insure a big bike is still pocket money compared to other running costs.
