Default Brake Issue?

At the weekend I replaced the stock brake lines with braided lines and took the opportunity to clean out the calipers replace the seals and the brake pads (with the HH sintered ones).

Now my question is this. The brakes are working fine but when pushing the bike with the engine off I am hearing a slight rubbing noise which indicates that the pads are slightly touching the discs. It can't be much because the bike is easily moved about but do I have to worry about warped discs or anything or is this a bedding in thing ???

Hi blueflame ... I remember you from AR06 !

Some brake pads come with a thin layer of beding in material on the friction surface ... it could just be that ?

To be sure i would get the front wheel off the ground and put the brake on & off a few times whilst spinning it..it should turn without hardly any resistance ..

Hope that helps

Caz.

+1.it could be just the new pads bedding in type of thing.try and get the front wheel of the ground and spin it and see wot the score is see if it will run freely etc...

There is a bit of resistance when trying to spin the wheel when off the ground. It was like that before I changed everything as well. As I say it does not affect the ability to push the bike around and I don't feel any vibes when riding so I don't think it is major at this stage.

I am possibly being overcautious but with the ride to Somerset for AR08 coming up I just wanted to reassure myself that things weren't going to go all wrong with the front wheel half way down the country.

Common issue with new HH pads, one thing you could check though is that do the disc have free movement on the carriers and are they straight?

You talking about the fitting of the brake lines? All the threads were the same size I think but it was clear which banjo went to the master cos two lines come from it so that bolt was unique from the others.

They were all the same thread I am sure of it.
My box said 'Suzuki SV650 SK3 -SK7 03-07' on it. I bought mine via my local shop.
