you really don't need to do all that preparation to do that trip.

...and getting Tea & Biscuits with the Kazak embassador....pah!

Just get on your bikes & point them east wards. The big girls blouses.....

;o)

Seriously, it was pretty cool watching their preparations thinking I remember debating that issue...then forgetting to get a proper solution in place...

These are slightly different though, originally it was hour long episodes but these are the 40 minute episodes designed for American TV with there adverts. Didn't watch it but it is much better than long way down imo.

Being a perrenial nerd, I bought the DVD set, then the special Edition, then Race to Dakar and then Long way down.

Out of all of them, the first is the best. Although after LWD I did wonder if their friendship would ever last another one.

The first book offered an Insight that the series did not, there was more infighting in the organisation than they would really like you to know about and at times, even Charlie and Ewan thought it over produced.

Still were I rich enough to afford to pay a team of technical advisers to follow me around the world...

I am still to persuade Carol to give them a try, but I doubt my chances of success! You see, she is a drop dead gorgeous biker who would rather ride than watch the telly!

Spending that much time with each other there was bound to be a little bit of tension every now and then though.
