ok well today i went to leave for work n i left the bike idling whilst i got ready (got to bout 50c) then went to set off as i went to do so the bike cut out so went to start it again n started fine and off i went. Got about 7 miles in to journey up to a set of lights waiting for them to turn green as i went to pull off again engine just turned off. Went to start it this time but had to give it a bit of throttle to go. Now this always seems to happen when iv got the clutch in so could it be something to do with that? it happens very rarely (once or twice a month?) but id rather get it sorted now then find out its a more serious problem
![]() Also i recently had the bike serviced, and the clutch was lubed but there seemed to be oil spraying on to my tank for a while ?

What's your engine idle speed?
I'd be running about 1,500 rpm. Much lower and it takes very little to stall the bike if there's a little clutch drag, and it sounds lumpy too ![]() Jambo

There's an idle speed adjuster down on the left side of the frame near where your left knee would be if you were riding the bike, turn that up a bit and see if the problem goes away.
With regards to the oil spray on your tank, lift the tank up and check that the oil breather pipes are connected into the bottom of the air box, sometimes they get left disconnected and you get sprayed with some oil. Jambo

I'd say 1500 rpm is a little too high, a happy medium between 12 and 15 sees my two just fine.
Under 1200 and yes they struggle, 15 they don't particularly like. make sure shes been running for a while when you adjust the idle, then blip throttle, to make sure it settles where you want it. oh and if you don't know what the adjuster looks like, its where Jambo says it is, and its a white flower shaped knob!, clipped into a bracket, pop it off there when you twiddle
