Do i take a spare pair and leave them at work. take 5 shirts and trousers for the week on monday? take stuff every day? wear it unter my textiles? other? also any other commuting tips and how to survive? also how to make sure you still can look the part at work and not like a biker? |

I wear clothes yes, they tend to moan if I turn up nude...
![]() I wear my shirts under my jacket and just change into a pair of trousers I have either taken with me or left at work. I also keep a pair of shoes in the office, which come to mention it need a good buffing, will have to visit the shoe shine nipper by St'Pauls. |

![]() Damn squares! I intend to take a pair of trousers and leave shoes there also, or maybe take everything. Shirt wise it depends if it's raining or not, as I aint buying no textiles just to commute for filthy work! |

I'd probably wear the shirt underneath (and keep a can of deoderant at work) the textiles and take the trousers in a tank bag/keep them at work for that distance. On hot days the shirt will stick to you like a second skin, even with vented leathers, but that happens on really hot days just being in the office if the air con is broken.

I'm also an all year round biker and commute around 15mins to work. I can wear casual at work so like to wear jeans which I carry in my backpack to change into upon arrival. For shoes I always use leather safety shoes which can be cover with my plastic shoe outer covers to keep things dry. I've grown pretty used to safety boots and are the next best thing to proper motorcycle boots without looking too out there in the office. The shirt I can wear underneat my textile, leather or plastic rain over-jacket. It gets too hot in summer over here so may even ride only in t-shirts when it's very hot. It's not the case with you living in England, you don't get 36 degrees in the shade there do you, so a good breathable textile summer jacket should be fine. I've got an Alpinestars textile summer jacket which is great, look them up. I always carry a spare pair of socks with me, my plastic rain over-suit (separate pants and jacket are better than one-piece) and plastic shoe over-covers. A nice tip is to put all your things in a bin bag inside your bag so if it leaks nothing would get wet.

I wear all my work gear under my textiles and never a problem. Of course it helps if you have decent waterproof gear should the inevitable happen. I ride a 60 round trip to work each day. I just leave a pair of shoes at work.
