OK, My brother is changing bikes and before the masses get their grubby mitts on it you lot can have a gander, Ive known the bike from new and ridden it several times ,it all genuine; none of the upgrades were due to a spill, just addressing the problems the bike was made with, located in north London so viewing more that welcome, anyone interested give me a shout either PM /mobile or email and I'll sort something out.
heres the details in my brothers own words....... £2750not really open to offers at this stage as it's priced under market value anyway. Red Kawazaki Z1000 2005 05 Reg One owner from new (Me) MOT till March 2009 Tax till April 2009 20,000 Miles Last serviced @ 19,500 Miles. Service included: Castrol R oil Oil Filter Air Filter Clean (K&N Fitted) Plugs checked and cleaned (Iridium plugs fitted) Rear Break Pads (Double H) Front Break Pads (Double H) Front Discs New X Ring Chain and sprockets (Fitted at 17,500) New Tyres front and rear (Michelin Pilot Power 2CT) Cables oiled Recent new front wheel bearings (at MOT in March) It does not have a stamped up service book since all servicing has been carried out by me. I am a qualified mechanic and as such have undertaken all servicing in accordance with the workshop manual. Oil and filter changed every 2,500 miles. Full service every 5,000 miles. Top end service (Valve clearances) completed at 12,500 miles. Extras Fitted Carbon Tank protector Renthal bars with Road brace Tail tidy Z1000 radiator cover Scottolier Mk 7 Datatool System 3 alarm (with fitting cert) Factory colour matched Rear seat hump (Includes rear seat) Paddock stand bobbings Crash protectors (Shaped) Acumen digital gear indicator Carbon Front mudguard (Power bronze Vented) Full Lazer extreme quad shot gun exhaust system (Road legal with baffles fitted) LED indicators fitted (and Flasher unit) and tear drop mirrors. When Kawazaki produced the Z1000 they managed to reduce costs by fitting budget suspension to both the front and rear. The original front forks had adjustment on only one leg and this was not suitable. The rear was not fully adjustable and had a tendency to over heat. This was the biggest failing of these bikes. You will be glad to know that this has been rectified on this Z1000. So whats been done: Rear Shock has been swapped for a ZX10 shock. Its fully adjustable and has been re-sprung for the Z1000. Rear of the bike has been raised 20mm, via new dog bones, to aid turn in. Front forks have been replaced by those from a ZX6R. They have been re-sprung and are fully adjustable. The front mudguard has been changed to a Carbon Power bronze item for a ZX6R. The front brakes have been upgrade to Radial callipers from a ZX10R. Braided hoses fitted. The original Z1000 front wheel has been kept since it matches the polished rim of the rear. The suspension and components are either new or came from bikes between 2005 and 2006 with less mileage then the Z1000. The major mods where completed at around 4000 miles and all none new components had less then 2000 miles when they were fitted. The suspension is setup for me (15 Stone) and some riders may find this rather hard. Im happy to offer advice on setup if required. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Apart from the colour, that is quite nice. Good to know the front end has had a make over, at 140 the front bars used to waggle in your hands. Which was disconcerting.

Yeah I did ride it before the upgrade, disappointing to say the least, however the zx10/636 bits have addressed all of that, it's a well sorted bike, apparently the new tyres are "amazing", although I've not tried in as they are new.
Cheers Mark.
