Default Another restrictor question

Right, another forummer is kindly sending me the restrictor washer kit (thanks melody) for my '99 sv650 naked. First question is how accurate are these? I know restricting the mixture flow through a carb will be hard to make an exact science, are they guaranteed to put the sv below 33bhp? (so I don't waste my money on a dyno).
Also something else that's been bugging me- I love my leo vinci system and it sounds great so don't want to plonk the std system on. Now I know 33 bhp is 33bhp it's a figure so technically it should be the same even with my sports zorst...but, well - will it?
Cheers Guys

at/under 33bhp?
I think it's a full system, will have to double check.

No, you're changing the gas flow of the whole engine so technically it's nothing like the standard system, you have less backpressure at all rpm.

You have no idea whether the FI int. kit is going to work with that exhaust or not, and what bhp it'll end up putting out.

The kits tend to be on the cautious side, so I'd fit it, then dyno it to be sure. But, if the combination of kit + system puts it to 33.1bhp ... it's unlikely that anyone will care.

ive got the super technical ECU ...still came out at 29 BHP on the dyno so its not an exact science is it. So you should be fine mind you i had the standard can and pipes on for that.

Does anyone know how much dynos are? I don't want to restrict it with the exhaust on and dyno it and learn that Im going to have to put std. on and pay for a another dyno. I'm tempted just to take it to a dodgy dynoman and ask him to tie it down tighter.

£40 - £45 and all stamped ... a fair price i think.
Suzuki being suzuki give the bhp readout from the crank so, backwheel will mean you loose a few, so to be safe std can and get it done.

Actually south london suzuki had a deal of £25 off but he tore that bit off my leaflet and binned it, so never going back there again.

Think it'll have to b std. can then. Can always put the vinci on if I find I don't get pulled over often on the sv I suppose.
Out of interest how does riding with the restrictor in affect the bike. Obviously the top ends severely reduced, but how's acceleration and general riding affected?

noooooooo.... my can is quite loud but not over the top, and i ride with it, but just for the dyno i switched over. Also most police have better things to do that pull over a bike as its abit noisy.

the bike is lovely, although ive never ridden full power 33 is very good.
You can accelerate all the way up to 80 in very good time, under 10 seconds easily ( faster than most cars unless they put their foot right down ), then you can get it doing around 100 going with the wind otherwise low 90's. 80's are very cumfortable.
o, overtaking is good in 40 50 60 zones as it will hammer up to 70 before you now it.

town riding and up to A roads is good but motorways you will want to stay out of the fast lane most of the time.

Get riding and u'll love it!

Runs and rides fine, not really noticeable in town unless you like doing wheelies, can still spank pretty much all cars. Gutless on motorway. A roads you need to keep momentum, but still fun
