Default Service Question. Brake Fluid, Coolant related.

If you put your bike in for a 7.5k service and on the service schedule it says that it's due a fluid change every 2 years, as the 7.5k service is classed as "2 year service" does this mean i will get a fluid change if i've only had the bike 14 months.

It means the component needs looking at every 7.5k or every two years depending which comes first.

So my bike should get a brake fluid and coolant change then?

It's just the 4k service is 1.5 hours and they quoted me 2.5 hours to do the 7.5k service.

It doesn't take an hour to change coolant and brake fluid. It's not a hard job either...

So they should do it, they can't turn around and say "Well it isn't 2 years old yet, so we don't have to do it"

I'd say that they wouldn't do it at the 7.5k service, unless it had been 2 years, precisely because the note against the fluids says every 2 years.

The 7.5k service is classed as "7,500 or two years whichever happens earlier"

IMO

Now, if you were putting it in for a service because the bike was 2 years old, and had done (say) 5,000 miles, then they SHOULD do it...

Just mention it when you take the bike in, if they don't do it then ask why?

thanks. I replaced the front pads after they went haywire and the brakes didn't feel as good as new so i guess the fluid needs replacing and thought i won't waste my time doing it if they doit at the service although i have done the rear brake one.
