Default Suit Advice Please???

Hello, i know its winter and textiles are probably prefferable but i'm looking at getting some leathers and need some advice from the org.

- Should i get one piece or two piece leathers???
- Budget for new leathers between 175 - 275.
- Should i consider second hand leathers???
- When and where would be the best time to get "end of line" deals. Particularly from places like Hein Gericke???

Thanks in advance, Binky.

Now is probably as good a time as any to buy leathers - however there may be slightly better deals in Jan/Feb.

I bought a Frank Thomas two piece set-up from J&S this time last year and paid about £250. Saved a bundle as the original price was pushing £400. (Never had a problem with FT - btw)

I personally prefer 2pc suits, but try out a range of styles within your price range to see what you prefer.

I would say two piece, much easier to get on with when going to the toilet etc.

I would also say second hand off ebay. I guess at that price you would be looking at RST leathers or such like new, which although I have had no personal experience, I have heard the stitching fall apart. You could get a good like new suite for that price off ebay.

2 piece.

try on a one piece and then imagine doing it all the time...

2nd hand if you can get a good look at them and assure yourself that they havent been down the road and that the seams etc arent knackered.

i think HG may still do their 0% for 6/12 months depending on how much you spend.

no, definately a 3 piece, it can be hard finding the right locations for two sofas but a sofa and two chairs is more flexible

and if you're going to be going to the loo i'd recommend you get it scotchguarded too

Binky, courtesy of JumJum we know of a place in Brierley Hill that does seconds (zip defects etc....but NO defects to leather stitching). They have Hein Gericke, Spidi, JKS etc. Can't remember the name of the place but they had full suits from at £150.

PS - PM Lily if you want to know, she knows where it is.
