Default Tyre recommendation

Dear all,
I have a K0 SV650 and the front tyre has just about had it whereas the rear has lots of life left. Both tyres are Michelin Macadams (although they have different tread profiles!?!). Any suggestions for what to replace the front with. Seems that Michelin has updated their range since these were fitted and now seem to be selling Pilot Road as their main road tyre (I've only had the bike 2 months or so) and so I want something reasonably compatible with the rear tyre. Any good suggestions?

Thanks

Have a look in the tyre section.

Tyres are a personal preference to what you feel feels right, the majority on here run on Avon Storms which I strongly rate.

i run the avon vipers and also rate them very highly, though i only seem to get about 4k or just under out of a rear! but it's worth it to me as they feel great.

i have pilot roads and i find them reasonably sticky (takes a few days to get used to them bein slightly less sticky than what u may own and to scrub them in of course) they have brilliant tread, rarely spin or slide even when its soaking and they alledgedly have longer life than the stickier tires of the michelin range! but once again its completely preferential, i have 2 mates that swear by pirelli diablos :S each to their own

My SV has PR2's on, my Z750 Storm ST's.

Probably going to try Roadsmarts next time.

Metzeler MEZ6 are good, I got very high milage from mine (a screw killed the rear, front still has life in it after 8,000 miles or so) but I wasn't happy with how they feel when its cold, a sort of odd heavy feeling. I'm moving onto bridgestone BT021's now, see how they go

+1 for dunlop roadsmarts, done about 850 miles on them before writing bike off (nothing to do with tyres) and rate them highly, although as said its a personal choice, to be fair i dont think there is a great deal between the top specs...but ive only had dunlop d220's (didnt inspire confidence) and dunlop roadsmarts (brilliant)

have michelin pilot sports on my thou and cant fault them. they are the only tyres i have ridden on that feel warm to the touch after riding through ****ing rain! the rear has also seen 5k miles and still has about another 1k in it.

they can feel a bit squirmy when cold but once warm there is tons of grip.

I've just put a set of Pirelli Diablo's on. Can't fault them.

Although, i had some wheel spin last night putting straight line power down (heavily) in 3rd, but tyres were cold as had only done about half a mile through stationary traffic, and road was damp.
