Fuel light probs?

right il give as much info about my bike as i can now to save hassle
its a curvy 650 sk1 (2001) im pretty sure its imported as the headlight sweeps to the right and the trip is in km (speedo must be mph converted)
when i got it the fuel light came on as a slow pulse when i began to run low on fuel (about same speed as indicator flash) then when i got into my reserve it went to a solid light. now when i run low on fuel i think it comes on slightly later and goes to a rapid flash (about double speed) i havnt gone further than this to see if it then goes solid after!
is this an emergency reserve light or what is it doin? (it doesnt do the slow flash at all anymore)

firstly i would check any electrical connections, as it sounds like something is up with the timer that makes the bulb flash. dout its a fuel sensor problem or anyhting like that.

yeh i figured it myt be something like that! i thought it might have been a bad connection but i watched it and its equally timed spaces between the lights its not a flicker or anything... im assuming the fuel light will have the same sorta timer relay like indies have?

i would imagine so. maybe its just a knackered relay that is causing it to flash double time*. Should still function the same though, maybe change the relay.
