Default Good news for my bike!

I finally got the bike in to have the clutch overhauled and carbs cleaned, new choke and clutch cables.

Expecting it to cost up to £450, if parts were required.

Fortunately- no new clutch parts- it was just the cable and worm drive and general setup- so that was a major relief.

Also, the carbs apparently came up lovely.

So 72bhp on the dyno before the carbs done (clutch done first), and 75.1bhp after!!

I was fairly suprised. Was expecting the reading to be about 70. My mechanic says the bike's in great condition for 46000miles. It is running more like a 20k mile bike.

It felt and sounded much smoother.

I'm well chuffed!

Will post the dyno chart once I've got it scanned in. The only mod on the bike is a Fuel SS oval can with no baffle.

On top of that, got the basic quote for the insurance renewal- from £540 to £336 before negotiating. Hoorah!

Woop Woop!

Even mine doesnt make that much, tho when it was dyno'd its was at a mere 3k miles. I think she has loosened by now.

As for insurance.... do you live in the Ghetto?

Not far off- Surbiton. Border of Berrylands and the Alpha estate (where I grew up). It's not that bad actually. There's been a good few bikes parked out on the street in my area that have been consistently there...

I think my previous road history went against me- plus I'm getting my first year's no claims and being over 35. Helps things a bit. I will still try and get them down to under £300 if I can.

lol! Yeah. Apparently, both carbs were filthy. Had the ultrasound clean done and the setup (ie fuelling) sorted for the second dyno run.

Unless there's a mod in there I didn't know about...

OK OK. It's at the crank, rather than the back wheel.

But she certainly feels more lively now. And oh so smooth. She seems to purr at me when I start her up. Mmmmm.

Now- to fit the nautilus. Gonna have to wait a couplaweeks I think- busy on the weekend...

Ah... that explains it, all dyno's vary.
