What size clamp for a CCC exhaust? - SV650.org

I've got a (2nd hand) CCC exhaust to put on my K8, however I only have the clamp that holds the link pipe to the exhaust.

What size clamp would I need to connect the link pipe to the stock exhaust (I don't have the bike with me at the mo and I want to pick up a clamp this afternoon)?

Pipe is probably slightly larger than 2". I believe I've used a 45-55mm clamp before, but can't fully remember.

Cheers Chris...just phoned blokey at the bike shop, he's gonna have a rummage round and said to come in tomorrow.

Means I might as well fetch the link pipe in tomorrow and take it along to make sure.

Make sure you don't get one that's about right when fully tight. Needs a couple of mm to tighten onto

Cheers mucka.....I would be being soft if I asked for instructions on how to do this right?

Cut 50mm from exhaust sensor towards rear of exhaust (using some ply or summat to stop the hacksaw hitting the frame). Unbolt stock rocket launcher, assemble link pipe onto stock exhaust pipe/new silencer, tighten bolts?

What about the sleeve off the old rocket launcher....bin it?

50mm from the weld line I believe. However I have no sodding idea about the pointies with the sensor'd exhaust system. Wait for someone else to confirm measurements.

Cheers....tbh...seen lots of threads (you wouldn't believe how many come up on a search), seems straightforward enough, however I usually see the right way of doing something, just after I've cocked it up

Plus...doesn't feel right taking a hacksaw to my baby!

Hacksaw? Nah use a 9" grinder. Much quicker

Hmmm....I'd get carried away, plus I have a mini-grinder that would probably be better (and metal cutting discs)....however, from the looks of others experiences, hacksaw is cleaner

Will I be OK to use a big jubilee clip until I can source the correct clamp (Monday 29th)?
