I have been told by loads of people not to use Internet Explorer as it has a security problem. Nobody knows what or if its fixed yet. So I have switched to Mozilla Firefox. I dont know if its any better at all. Just wondered if anybody else knew of any issues they could share, cheers.

OK, without going into too much detail & getting everyone confused.
![]() Lets assume I'm a naughty boy ![]() ![]() You go to that website using IE, thanks, I now have full control over your computer. I can access all your home made amateur films/photo's, and if you've been silly enough to save your bank details on your computer, I can go Jan sales shopping paid for by you. ![]() |

More of these naughty programs and websites are written for IE as it's still the most popular browser!

Ive had a few probs with my pc recently after deciding to clean it out and delete a few old programs etc, it all went tits up unfortunately and meant that I was only able to get online for approx 5 mins after start up then ''internet explorer cannot display this webpage'' would pop up and I was offline again. Anyway I eventually decided to bin I.E 7 and use firefox instead, dunno if its a coincidence but the pc is now running like it always use to, like I say it may be a coincidence but I wont be going back to it.

Firefox is brilliant and free, Opera is also very good, I only use IE for Windows updates... although theres an extension for FF to let you do that.

IE7 has already got a security fix update to download for that issue. As reported in this news article
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7788687.stm Every web browser has some security issues. I don't use IE though. |

![]() I love how that article refers to the issue as "zero day" - epic fail. EDIT: I've just checked other sources as well, any there's still unpatched vulnerabilities in IE7 that date back from the 2006 Alpha/Beta versions, which exist in the production version.
