Ravenholm is scaring the crap out of me :(

I'm playing through HL2 on the Orange Box on 360 for the first time, this is the scariest thing I've played since Silent Hill 4. Which I had to stop playing half way through because it was just too bad.

Anyone else a horror game fan? I keep meaning to play Silent Hill 2 because I've heard it's brilliant, I do worry that I'll be too scared to do so though.

for some reason playing ravenholm didn't scare me a bit, it was very atmospheric and very well presented but wasn't anywhere near as scary to me as Doom3

Ravenholm didnt scare me no... but I know different games get different people. For example F.E.A.R. scared the hell out of me but some people claim it wasnt any where near. Also S.t.a.l.k.e.r is also scary in parts! Strange its the things with lots of full stops in their names lol.

[*NOTE* there is a remake of halflife coming out, called black mesa source, just google it, looks like its going to be ace ]

The beginning of Doom 3 is the worst but yep there are some bits where you really do shat it. A shame they made it a little repetative Overall great game. I love the video that explains the use of the BFG9000 and the other weaons on the PDA. Oh boy thats cool Wonder if they are on Youtube yet?

How are these games scary? Do things jump out etc? Having only played things like Mario I find it hard to imagine scary games!

Its the atmosphere that captures you and you kinda put yourself into the person you are making run about. Its really exciting when you are scared lol. Makes the ticker go good.

Call of Duty - World at War scares the living poo outta me. Only when those weird scorpian things scream at you and jump at your face.

How sad am I. As soon as I saw this thread I knew exactly what it was.

It did give me the heebie-jeebies a bit. Not as much as Doom 3 though, that just made me jump all the time.

Now, Dead Space is a scary ass game!
