GRR - recently i ordered a remus powercone from an dealer i found online. I asked them twice in an e-mail to check that it was road legal and both times they said that it was. So i rang up and ordered it and checked again. "yeah its definitely road legal mate" he says, " i spoke to the importer myself today".
So i gave him my credit card number. He debited it straight away and 3 weeks later (today) the can arrived and guess what - its stamped "not for road use". Grr useless plonkers. I've mailed them to ask for a refund and said i'd ring them tomorrow to see when they want to come and collect the can. Do you think i will be okay. I've still got the two e-mails saying its defo road legal - but i know e-mails are not suitable for evidence in court etc. ![]() ![]() If they really play sill buggers i'll have to send adburn round to threaten to tw*t them in the face. ![]() |

fair enough, hopefully they will sort it out. i'd be looking for a complete refund and taking my business elsewhere though. good luck.

you'd have though anyone selling exhausts would understand one of the most crucial questions ANYONE would ask, well obviously other than the 'will it fit ....bike?'
-expecially when you ask a few times to confirm. personally if the can looks sexy enough- the 'not for road use' can be ground down and polished over ![]() ![]() |

Just spoke to the dealer and they reckon that the baffle is stamped with the BS number so its okay for use on the road. Is that right that a not for road use can with a BS stamped baffle becomes road legal?
If the baffle really is BS stamped then i guess i'll be happy as i can just polish off the not for road use bit with a dremmel - but i can't get the damn thing out to check. anyone know how to do this on a remus powercone? |

MOT man may see it a different way though. I'd imagine the plod will be OK so long as the bike has a baffle and isn't stupidly loud, but if a can has NOT FOR ROAD USE on then the MOT tester risks getting in trouble for passing it I'd guess. You shouldn't have to polish markings off a new can that was sold as legal really mate, i'd still be after a refund unless you got a really good price.

no can with NFRU on it will get through an MOT, baffle or not, if the tester is playing by the rules: http://www.motuk.co.uk/mcmanual_710.htm

My Remus Powercone (bought in Sept 2006) doesn't say anything at all on it
![]() It has a removable baffle but I have never bothered to remove it - I leave anti-social behaviour to V-twin riders ![]()
