Default SV650S doesn't turn on

Hi,
My bike does not turn on for some reason.
Here is what happens when i try to start: when i push the start key for the first time, the engine seems to turn on, but it doesn't( it sparks and engine seems to turn on). the second time I try, i hear a click sound under the fron seat and ignition doesn't work( the engine does not even try to start). also after trying again, the panel power goes off and then on ( the odometer and front panel lights resets and then turn on again.) The fron lights, and everything else works perfectly and strong. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

From what you say I'm guessing that you mean your bike won't start, further the symptoms you describe strongly suggest the battery is flat.
Charge the battery, or use jump leads from another vehicle, this should start the engine, then you'll have to ascertain why the battery went flat.

Hmm sounds vaguely familiar - and with me it was a loose battery connection.

Connection is good enough to light the lights, but put a load on it and it breaks.

Get a spanner onto the batter bolts and tighten them down is my advice.

Do you have a charger? Try giving it a charge if it's any better then definitely your battery. Although if it's got that flat you may need a new battery. All the lads on here a putting together for a job lot of battery chargers so they each get one cheaper, think they retail about £30-£35 they're getting them about £25 + p&p
