Hi All.
I skipped my late summer/early winter brake service and of late the fronts have been a bit snatchy. I decided I couldn't put it off any longer as it has now been a year since I last serviced them. Today I found salt has knackered the right front pistons and dust seal. As I was pumping out the pistons to clean them I could see the salt and the dust seals were being pulled out with the pistons. That will teach me to skip a service. £76 for 4 new piston and seal kits and £34 including postage for HH Goldfren pads. Guess what I am doing next weekend? I thought the pads on the bike were standard but they are stamped HH Toyo on the back. I have never heard of these. Toyo tyres, yes but not brake pads. Tim. Thats sounds about right. Always painful. I use Hein Gericke pads which are a little more gentle on the discs but no less grippy.
However, i reckon that you could stopr the lot down and clean everything without buying new stuff! |

I think in future I will stick to the twice yearly service and remove/clean/lube the pistons at least once a year. Tim |

The site did not state if they are SS, here is the link.
http://motorcycleproducts.co.uk/cata...4-p-56772.html The only stainless steel ones I found on another site would have been £84 plus postage cost. Tim |

ditto.
This happened when I serviced mine. The dust seals where forced out with the pistons but the fluid ones where fine. Good clean out behind the seals with something small and sharp and grease and they work great! Time to do it again now tho |
