Bit of an odd title but I'm hardly a veteran and I've got new boots
![]() Picked up some TCX Competizione S's from J&S at lunch, bargainous at £127 (well I thought so anyway), previously only really experienced the Frank Thomas "wellies" that I have at the moment, great for winter and water but wanted something nicer. ![]() I was originally looking for some shorter ones and tried these on on a whim as I'd heard various people on here saying they were good. didn't expect how well they would fit me, even the size too small was better than anything else I'd tried but when I put the 45s on they were perfect, although I do feel I walk like robocop now heh ![]() Anyhow, with next to no real experience as yet I recommend at least trying them as they feel great, tried sidi's too but they didn't fit my leg oddly enough, didn't think I was weirdly shaped ![]() |

TCX are good boots.
Keep a can of WD40 spare - they'll start to squeek soon |

Mine squeeked from the moment I put them on, but I won't hear a bad word said about them.
According to my eldest daughter, KY Jelly doesn't stop Sidi Vertebraes from squeeking for very long, Vaseline works better. |

My boots started squeaking from new too. So I stripped my Sidi Vertigo's and used White Lightning on all the screws and fasteners etc. Put everything back together again and they are perfect man. No squeaks and its been 4 months. Riding twice a week for 2 hours, and even in the bad weather.
White Lightning is a bicycle chain lube. I use it on my Motorcycle to. Its excellant and is even waterproof and doesn't attarct the dirt either. |

Hmm, straying back slightly towards the topic, (which is a shame because the replies have been much more entertaining
![]() and I did wonder why you were using dodgy cider on your boots too ![]() |
