Good idea, but how many will try and return one they've dropped and dont have faith in anymore?

Its actualy law anyway regarding distance selling regulations so everyone has 7 days to change their mind on anything you buy online.

I think personal safety equipment is exempt at the moment.

I think it's a good idea, but it will be abused. Also, I'd be wary of buying from them in case you got a returned one, I suppose.

No its not exempt, there are exemtions such as perishable goods, land, software where the seal has been broken and business to business transactions, and a few others but safety equipment bought by an individual consumer is not one of them. We as consumers have good rights when it comes to dsr. For instance did you know that if you buy a flatpack object suck as a desk and then dont like it after you build it, you can still send it back and you dont even have to dismantle it.
