Default Boundary500 2009

Once again the Boundary500 is going to be taking place. For those that dont know what this is, its a charity ride in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance which covers 500 miles, starting from Teesside and heading up to Berwick Upon Tweed, across to the West Coast, down to Kendal in Cumbria and across to Scarborough before heading back to Teesside.

http://www.boundary500.co.uk

This year it takes place on the 20th June.

It starts out from Stockton and finishes at Lord Stones Cafe, just outside of Carlton In Cleveland. For those that dont know where this is, its just at the Northern end of the Helmsley run (PMers have done this run before).

Here is a taste of what is happening during the day at Lord Stones Cafe, and what will happen in the evening there.

"The Boundary500/Air Ambulance weekend as you know takes place on the weekend of the Challenge and Classic, Saturday 20th & 21st June 2009. On the Saturday night there are live Rock Bands and for those not taking part in the Challenge there is an entrance cost of £10 per person. No ticket no entry. There will be a limit of 500 and from initial soundings will be very popular.
Tickets are now available from Lord Stones Cafe.
On the weekend there will be a 90' marquee where between 10am and 5pm you can meet/greet/support the air ambulance. Our sponsors will be in attendance with displays from Tillston Motorcycles, Cleveland Advanced Motorcycles who will be offering assessed rides, Alt-berg boots, Simon Bailes Peugeot and a number of other parties and attractions who's details are yet to be confirmed.
The Air Ambulance will operate from the 'Moor' between 11am and 5pm both days.
Lord Stones will be open for the public until 5pm on the Saturday but from then onwards admission is by ticket only unless you are taking part in the Challenge.
Don't forget on the weekend there is free camping and beer at £1 a pint. Good food at reasonable prices.
There will be a press call at Lord Stones, 11am on Saturday 21st March to launch this years Boundary events and the Air Ambulance weekend. We require as many motorcyclists as possible for the photocall."

Lord Stones Cafe itself is a fantastic location, right on the edge of the moor and so you have the vista of the Tees Valley below (Yes its a fantastic sight). Hopefully the weather will be great, i'll be taking part in the ride and I'm contemplating camping on the moor that evening.

Anyone else fancy doing it?

The cafe itself:

And the magnificent view from the moor
