Default On the scrounge (riveter/splitter)

Hi, anyone got a riveter/splitter that I could borrow?

My chain knackered over the weekend, and with just buying a new helmet I don't really have the pennies to get it done at the dealers, so got a chain/sprocket set from DK.

I want to get a riveter at some point, but thought I would see if I can have borrow to see if it's something I get along with before I buy one and it becomes another tool I don't use in the garage.

Based in Bolton and Manchester btw.

Ta

Go to B&C tyres off the Long Causeway. If you fit the split link and bash it with a hammer, they'll finish the job with the proper tool for nowt!
Then again, they just fitted my new chain and both sprockets for £25. Saved me getting dirty, did it faster that I could and meant I could get out for a bazzin' ride!

I split my chain with an old strong slotted screwdriver and a hammer.

Then fitted the new one using a mini socket and G-clamp to push it together and a small drift to rivet it. Job done no problems and no tight spots.
