Whoh Mama!
I think I'm in love! These are a whole different world of Stickiness to the Avon Viper Sports... and turn in speed! Within 50 miles of fitting them I'm poultry Stripe free on the rear and the front is rippling like I've been on a track day! I recon I'm getting another 5 degrees of lean without even trying on these compared to the Vipers and thats before you start hangin' off. I'm having to re-learn all of the corners on my local roads because dozens of times today I ended up turning in way too early and having to lift the bike up again. These tyres are far more eager to lean. But without feeling like they are falling in. They just continue to lean until you get to full lean without any resistance. I even had to find a new placement for my toes on the pegs as my toes kept touching down when in knee down position. On several corners that would have seen the Vipers well on the limits, the pilots just laughed and could have taken it 15mph faster. Not a good tyre to have on if you're sitting on 9 points as they keep egging you on! (Honest officer, it woz the tyres wot told me to do it! ![]() And the improvement in handling on the Hornet is remarkable. There are 4 or 5 places on the local roads that used to really unsettle the bike and with these on, the bike is perfectly composed. I've fitted a 2CT on the front and a standard Pilot Power on the rear and I think I've found Tyre Nirvana. C Last edited by Berlin; 03-04-09 at 03:15 PM. |

Im running pilot power on the front and Pilot road 2 on the back. Your right about the front, the PR2ct was good on the front but the PP seems to love being leaned over!
Think I might try PP2ct front and PR2 rear next. The PR2ct has never had any grip issue and I can easy get 8K out of the rear im happy with that. ![]() I think the modern Michelin's are very good tyre's. ![]() |

These are the current tyres on my bike and having done two Scotland trips [3500miles] I am well please with the wear and road performance in both wet and dry
I was lucky in that the fronts had a re-call but I made sure that it had a few miles on it before changing it. I think I may manage another Scotland [1600miles] out of them,no squaring off and still loads of tread before the wear blocks. Pretty expensive to buy but well worth the money and I would have been putting a rear on if the gift of the other tyres hadn't happened, infact I might do that as there is so much tread still on the front and save the others |

Power 2CT----------brilliant,but I have them on a Sprint ST,not an SV so whether that would make a difference I don't know.

I may get some of these on my next bike... My local bike dealer quoted me £230 for Roadsmarts fitted, and £242 for PP2ct fitted (pricey I know) - I know I can get sets for under £200 off the net. Thing I love about the Michelins are the awesome tread patterns. Both the PR2ct and the PP2ct (and normal PP for that matter, same pattern) are awesome, much better than any of the other brands!
Only problem with putting a PR2 on the rear IMO is that I'd always be afraid the back will let go way before the front, but from a mileage point it makes sense! Besides, you'd have the two coolest tread patterns out there.. ![]() |

Just 100 miles into a set of Pilot 2 Roads on a pointy K6 which replaced the stock dunlops- have to say I'm very impressed - bike feels really secure on the corners and the front and back seem to work in harmony which I didn't find with the old tyres.
Pricey though - £230 for ride in/out - hope they last well ! |

Well, several hundred miles into them now and these are the tyres for me.
Unless they suddenly explode I can't see me buying anything else... ever. ![]() Absolutely stunning tyres and you can definitely feel (and see) the 2CT bit doing it's thang. Even though they are the price they are, I'm hooked. I'm going to have to buy new boots soon as the toes are wearing out from touching down!. C |

I have had these on my Daytona and hate them! Find that they give very little feedback. Always had good grip as in I haven't had them slide, but I prefer something which gives more feel.
Prefered the Pirelli Supercorsas and Dunlop Qualifier RR's Next up though - Metzeler Ractecs ![]() |
