Default Should I get a new chain?

Bikes done over 11k with original chain.
I checked the 'stretch' as per the manual by measuring between pins while tightening it today. It's got another 3mm of stretch to reach the stated service limit.
I quite fancy another chain and sprocket for bling value but be nice to know if I've got ages left or not.

If you have looked after it and continue to do so it will do double that mileage easily.

My K1 got to 43,000 on the same chain and sprockets, just. It did have a scotoiler fitter from new and also never wheelied etc. So yep that chain should carry on. I'd also check the sprockets for wear to confirm all is well and that the chain has no tight spots.

All depends on how you ride, my SV is not ridden smoothley, i love the instant go and wheelies etc, ive had my chain on my SV for about 20k now, but ive gone through two front sprockets, its got scottoiler on it but its now comming to the end of its life, i can pull it enough off the rear sprocket that you see the teeth

hardly know anyone that measures between the pins

Make sure your Scottoiler is working right and oiling well. If it doesn't for a short while its easy for older chains to dry out quick as the seals might be well worn. As said before bikes can do 25K on original equipment reasonably easy.
