The timidly titled JUDGEMENT DAYS!

Now I'm about 15k short of the asking price of a Street Glide but I thought it couldn't hurt to take one out for a wee spin. Plus, if you take a test they enter you in a prize draw for a CVO Softail Springer worth 20k, which I thought I would just swap for the Glide.

Alas, they didn't have one. Oh well, I'm old enough to remember Kenny Roberts on a flat tracker, even if it was a Yamaha, so the XR1200 it is then! There she is on the far left behind the V-Rod Muscle.

A handsome bike to be sure, Scorpion can x 1200cc loud and plenty fast, but by heck it was tall! Tiptoes for me, which I might have been prepared to forgive if I'd been able to get the stand down, but my wee legs couldn't push it past the point where the down spring takes over from the up spring! No XR for me then.

Farewell.

Now I don't know if they lay all this on on a wet Tuesday but as a way of spending a couple of hours on a sunny Saturday it's hard to beat. Here's a video of me nearly getting knocked over...

In summary, it's born from an unconquerable spirit of freedom. Is the sort of b*llocks you'll be talking for days after.

Why not? Milwaukee is probably picking up the tab for insurance. Go on my son!

Just wondering if I would be held responisble for driving uninsured or whether they would. Meh it's all booked and they haven't flagged my age.
Apparently there's £1k excess if you crash it though.

Well you wont be uninsured though, so it's neither here nor there.

But don't crash!

Unless they've restricted the bike I would have thought it'd invalidate any insurance?

Suck it and see I guess lol

Yes, it would.

So you'll be riding without insurance and riding other than in accordance with your licence? Well try not to draw any attention to yourself (you know, on your 12 grand open pipe Harley) and definitely, definitely don't crash.

Good luck!

haha I'll try!
Surely they'll have to accept some liability if they let me out on it as it's impossible for an 18 year old to hold anything but a restricted license.
If they turn me down hey I'm in the prize draw anyway and I intend on making a ride out of it.

There's probably a disclaimer in the small print somewhere. "I certify that i'm fully licenced to ride said vehicle...." or something like that. However yeah if caught the dealer would probably get some stick too.
