Default leaking petrol.

further to my previous thread http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=130283 i know have a differerant problem, filled the bike with fuel today for the first time since doin the work and petrol leaked from the overflow/breather pipe(right hand side of bike by the oil filler) thought i had overfilled the tank but it didnt stop!managed to ride bike home again a journey of approx 40 miles, when i got home tank was nearly empty again!!the fuel was still leaking. could i have damaged the inside of the tank when shaking it to clean it? if so can it be fixed or do i need a new tank?

Pipe is corroded through.

See if you can get a rod through it. If so you should be able to feed a pipe through covered in epoxy to seal it.

The filler well drain tube is broken inside the tank.

Do a search and you'll find a fair bit of info on this - I suspect cleaning the tank may have been the straw that broke the camel's back
