How does it feel now? Or have you just fitted this stuff?
Start by setting total sag to 35mm, put damping adjusters to standard settings for GSXR and go from there.

is that front or rear sag YC? I thought it was 30-35mm front and about 10-15mm rear static sag

Total sag for rear.
Do front preload by cable tie it's easier.

Anywhere between flush and about 15mm. I'd go for flush to start with, can sharpen it up later if you want.

well after checking up on myself I have found conflicting stories from 2 seemingly reliable sources.
Ohlins says one thing (that's the link for curvy rear shock) http://www.ohlins.com/Products/Owner...M_07241-02.pdf And white power say another, in the section entitled "A few technical terms explained" http://wpsuspension.co.uk/setup.php |

Does the cable tie method work on the SV's standard suspension? right way up forks, i have only seen it done on usd forks im trying to set mine up i understand rear sag but want to know as i have seen the cable tie method, adjusted my front softer seems to tip better into corners sometimes scary but seems to chatter a lot on the straights.

"The negative spring distance therefore should be between 20 and 40 mm" That much static sag for a shock is far too much. Ohlins quote 5-10mm which is what I have always learnt to use from many different sources. Secondly, I find it weird that when WP talk about spring preload - they use it to set ride height? Spring preload is simple. It is how much load is applied to a spring and therefore dictates how much additional load will need to be applied before that spring moves further. EDIT: Best suspension resource online I have found is here: http://www.sportrider.com/suspension...ide/index.html & http://www.sportrider.com/suspension...ngs/index.html Last edited by lukemillar; 04-06-09 at 01:31 AM. |
