Default autocom install

hey guys i recently bought a autocom unit i was gonna power off bike but because am not gonna use it much. i was gonna use a spare optimate connection so when i want to use it i can just plug it to optimate connector as it is powered to the battery all the time . is this a gd idea? i know the problem with leaving it connected it will run battery down but i want to be flexible so i can take it away from the bike if i want to.

also whats the best way to keep the unit dry would just putting it in a dry bag work or will the heat from it cause damage

cheers russ

Running it from an optimate lead will be fine. I rang autocom to check this and they said it will be good.

The unit is designed for bikes and is weather proof as long as it is out of direct rain etc like under the seat or inside the fairing. No need to put in a dry bag.

when using mine, it plugs into the optimate lead and slots into a little nook under the seat and is held in plce with an elastic band. Works 100%.
