Default Spare a thought please

One of my good mates is Olie Linsdell, the young lad from Flitwick who has had huge success racing on the Isle of Man. The Triumph 675 I spanner on was his Triple Challenge bike until last year. Wednesday's practice session for the TT was going well, with Olie posting a 120mph lap on his Flitwick Motorcycles Yamaha R6. The next lap didn't go quite so well... Olie lost control at Glen Duff and collided with a stone wall at approx 150mph.

He's alive, conscious and talking, but has a shattered femur and numerous broken ribs amongst other injuries. He's also reputed to look like someone has skinned him because he went down the stone wall for some distance and his leathers got a bit tatty by the end. At present he's in Nobles Hospital on the IoM being cared for by the wonderful staff there.

Please spare a positive thought when you can for one of the UK's best young racers, and like me I hope you wish Olie a full and speedy recovery.

Sounds bad. Hope he pulls through to at least be able to enjoy life if not road racing.

Cheers!

Had an update from his mum this morning when I woke. He had an op to pin his leg and stitch his knee, at 2am his mum was waiting for the call to say it had gone ok.

I'll update as I find out more.
