Default Ebay woes

Anyone got any advice on this...

I bought a clutch for my cr250 on the 23rd of may for 82quid, i recieved the usual e-mail from ebay saying the parcel ahd been sent out throught royal mail on the 25th may. Im still waiting for it now i think its been 8 days or so now.
I contacted the seller and he said "yeah i posted it on the 25th please remember it can take up to five working days for delivery" that was'nt really relevant seeing as it had already been 8 days.

Am i panicking about my cash way too early or should i be looking into trying to sort it out?

cheers folks

mick

Had a similar problem. Won a pair of gloves on the 20th May, buyer said they'd been posted. Nothing.

warned them I would start PAYPAL dispute today if goods hadn't arrived.

Low and behold they turned up yesterday (4th June) with a post mark of the 3rd.

So they'd only posted them the day after I'd threatend PAYPAL action. Boyfriend was using his girlfriends EBAY account and they were his gloves and HE was responsible for posting them!

Him lying toerag

But at least I got them.

Start your PAYPAL dispute and give as much detail in the report you need to complete as part of the process

I usually give it 5 - 7 working days knowing I've paid for 1st class postage as it is the Royal Mail, but last year or so they've been spot on and recieved it quicker.

Although, if you don't get it after say 10 working days, contact ebay and inform the seller you have contacted them regarding this, he would be expected to pay full refund to you, and claim the insurance back from the Royal Mail with his proof of postage and hopefully he paid the extra for the insurance out of the boundary of normal postage. - that is the procedure I followed when an item "went missing".

That was one of the excuses that was proffered for my gloves being delivered, but I must say Royal Snail ain't as bad as some people make out.

All of my other EBAY purchases have arrived within 1 or 2 days of winning the item this week.

I do wish people would send stuff by recorded delivery, which is what I do on every item I sell on EBAY. Helps to stop bogus claims for stuff not being delivered, which also happens.

Tight b*tards that don't, although thats not 100% fraud proof as anybody could supposedly sign for it and the buyer not actually recieve the goods..

.. and recorded isn't that cheap and puts people off I've always though. My xbox worked out cheaper to send to Jersey with ParcelForce than it did if I was to send it within the UK with Royal Mail

Still if you send it recorded the Post Office insurance pays out instead of you.

Pacel force is usually cheaper for bigger items anyway, and automatic cover for £100 or £150 now. Plus it's trackable.

No quibbles either if it doesn't arrive
