Default Clicking Noise

Not had chain / sprockets changed yet, but there is a clicking noise from the chain, have had the gear cover off to check the front sprocket, condition is okay/good.

Chain has a bit of life left but not much so going to get it all changed, however need to ride to the garage to get this done.

Is the clicking noise a tight link in the chain would somebody say or something to be worried about, when I spin the wheel on the paddock stand before the "click" noise it gets harder to push

not sure about the clicking noise but the rotation issue is likely to be a tight spot developing in the chain which is a sign of wear. Is there more/less slack in different parts of the chain?

I would'nt try to squeeze as much life as you can out of it, if it comes off when riding it's a particularly unpleasant experience

I've not rode for 2 weeks because of exams and intended to get it changed as soon as its done, the place I'm getting it changed is about a mile away its just whether this clicking noise is causing further damage to anything.

Its less than a mile to be fair, up a 30 then into a 40 but i'll just keep and low revs and steady speed below the limit just in case.

Fingers crossed it is the chain and hasn't done any other damage.

Thanks

is it a bike dealer/garage you are taking it to?

phone them first to ask their advice. They may be able to come and have a look/listen and tell you what it could be incase you are too worried about riding there.

Just be smooth with the ride to the garage to get it changed.. clean it and lube it before you go if you're still worried..does seem like a tight link or something.. don't worry about it tbh.

Garage, I've got to ring them to book it in, they could collect its just how much they want to do so...

SOunds like a good clean (with paraffin) and a good lube could do your chain wonders

but yes, do get it checked out

What would be the best lube depsite scottoiler being on there? Would prefer to try and get the kink in the chain out for before riding if thats possible.
