Default Attempting to install Dominator lights - confusion about plugs.

Hi all,

I'm currently trying to install my Dominator lights. I have got as far as taking off the old light..but now i'm a bit puzzled as to where one of the connectors on the Dominators fit into. It's the little 2 connections on the right in the below pic -

Now its obvious where the large black plug goes (into the other black thing on the left in the below pic). Have the 2 little ones got anything to do with the small side light bulb (see below pic) from the old headlight?

Thought so. So do i detach the side light bulb wire at the small black connector (just above my index finger in the photo) and stick the 2 little ones from the Dominators in there? I've tried that but it doesn't seem like the correct place for them to plug into.

If you cut the wires anywhere between the light bulb and the connector and splice the new wires into the ends using either connector blocks or solder, you will be able to carry on using the connector.

Do you have two side light bulb connectors on the loom (one for each side) ?

Actually...try the existing side light bulb holders in the dominator sidelight mounting holes, you may find they just pop-in with no wiring mods.

Cheers, i'll have a closer look at the dominators and see if the existing bulb slots in.

I read reviews on dominators saying they were just plug and play, and away you go. What i thought would be a 20 min job has taken me about 5 hours!

Speaking from experience, each headlight bowl has a side light in it. There would be a requirement of splicing of some description to have both working anyway.

I personally never use the side lights anyway, so i'm wondering whether to not bother getting them working. Is this illegal though? I'm guessing it wouldn't pass an MOT either.

Whats the standard arrangement though Stig? Surely there must be two sidelights now, I was wondering if thats the case you would expect to find two connectors, one for each side.

If so would then be a case of simply fitting the existing holders into the dominators if the wires are long enough, or worst case soldering the existing connectors to the dominator sidelights.

The dominator lights I bought were simply spiced over from one to the other. So there were only one actual set of wires coming out of the unit.
