Strange Happenings

Ok, as you all know, my Gran is dying.

Yesterday morning we got a call from the hospital saying she had deteriorated quite badly and suggested that we all get up there. I sat there from 1100 yesterday morning until 0600 this morning.

up until 2230 last night, she was sleeping and practically unaware of us being there. She didn't speak at all. Not once. She was becoming increasingly agitated and as such, the sedatives in her syringe driver were increased.

At 2230, a nurse handed me a can of coke and upon opening it, my Gran opened her eys and waved at me. She then drifted between a light sleep and mumbling to us. Nothing too strange so far.

Then comes the weird bit. About midnight, she started speaking to someone beside her. Not me or my mum. She started laughing and talking to them, although we couldn't understand what she was saying. Then, out of the blue, she turned to me and said "I'm happy now."

She started saying her dad was shouting on her. I asked her if her mum was there and suddenly the lights started flickering reallky violently. She spent the rest of the night "talking" to her family.

I have never felt such a surreal experience. I know people try and say it is the brain shutting down but it doesn't explain the lights everytime we asked about who was with her. The light on the TV also began to flicker for some unknown reason.

Has anyone else had experiece of this....or am I cracking up?

Hmmmmm, very strange hun, but I'm glad she told you she was happy. What more could you want to hear from someone in your nans predicament?

tv turns its self on. sometimes you can turn the radio off and it will turn itself back on minutes later...

Are you talking about a similar situation or an actual "haunting" as it were?

haunting sort of thing.

are you trying to work out if it was a coincidence or whether or not she was talking to someone, and if that person was causing the lights to flicker?

I think I know the answer to that one. I was just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences?

Certainly, the nurses commented on it and also stated it happens from time to time when someone is nearing the end.

Really would'nt have believed it if i had have experienced it first hand.

Spirits for some reason find it easier to control or manipulate electrical items. I have had a lot of experience of this as an ex g/f lived in a flat that was occupied by a spirit as well as her family. To begin with i was well spooked after a while i began to be cool with it too.
Spirits are nothing to fear and have clearly come to see you Nan has some friends about her weh she decidedes to cross over to the other side.
Be glad you experienced this and that her friends on the other side are waiting to welcome her over when she's ready.

yes its a freaky thing when it happens but dont worry, its also a good thing.

I`m sure that in time your nans words that she`s happy now will come as a great comfort to you and your family.

I`m not surprised in the least about the unusual happenings.... Many times I`ve sat with dying people who`ve been comatose for a while then suddenly "wake up" and start talking to someone. Often they`ll see that person and get quite annoyed that I can`t. It`s long been said that before you can cross over to the other side somebody has to come and get you.

Last Saturday I was with a very poorly patient... I`d told the family that he wouldn`t make it thru the next couple of hours. This man had had an "out of body" experience some weeks earlier and said that his daughter and his mother had come to show him the way to heaven. He told them it wasn`t his time yet and suddenly he was back in the room looking down at his body in the bed, that`s all he remembered.

Five minutes before he died my patient (who hadn`t stirred for almost 48 hours) tried to sit up. He told his family that his daughter and mother were here again and that now he was ready to go and it was time to say goodbye. He then closed his eyes and lost his fight.

I have heard of clocks stopping, lights flashing on and off etc but i`ve never actually witnessed the activity but as somebody else has already mentioned spriritual activity can play havoc with electrical equipment.
