Default Bikerchick82 - Not Down but Out!

Just for those of you who know Bikerchick82 (Kate from Girls Bike 2 -Hitchin).

She was hit by a car, fortunately being a fabby rider, she managed to stay on but the wing mirror of the cage that hit her has broken her wrist.

GWS hon

I don't think I've met the lady in question, but am glad it wasn't any worse, if well wishes ease the pain or speed recovery, you're most welcome to mine.

GWS

Cheers Mark.

VT....Start running cos I'm gonna kill you

Thanks guys, the docs reckon I've got a fractured scaphoid (bit at the base of your thumb) I've done it before and it took me 12 weeks to heal

All down to a cager deciding he wanted to be in front of the bike...

I was heading home after work and was on a straight bit of road, as I came up to a junction on my left, I could see the car there and luckily I started slowing and moving out to the centre of the road when I saw him.
Then, whaddya know! He pulls out Well, I went from 6th to 2nd in one swift movement and started to swerve to avoid him, there wasn't any point in braking cos I'd have gone into the back of him.

All was going well until I was almost passed him, he could see that I was almost around him and God knows what went through his head but he bloody pulled further out towards the central line!
That's when I hit his wing mirror (I think it was the mirror anyway) My first reaction was to put my hand out to stop him coming closer (yeah cos I'm that hard I can stop a moving car with one hand! ) That's when I got that horrible sicky feeling....

Maybe it was wrong of me but I didn't stop....He wasn't stopping (would you if you'd just tried forcing a biker off the road?) I knew that if I stopped then I wouldn't be able to start again and I was still 6 miles from home....

So ummm yeah....I carried on....

I did as little with the clutch as possible (I didn't realise there were four traffic lights coming back from there....I do now!) I do clutchless up changes anyway so that wasn't too much of a problem and I did a few clutchless down changes as well. I'm not hard though, there were a couple of roundabouts/traffic lights where I was in tears

I got home by telling myself that if motogp racers can race with a bust wrist then I could ride home!
Pulled up on the drive (on a slope so more clutch needed!) turned the bike off and slid off the bike - got inside and almost passed out when I took my glove off....Told OH that I needed to go to hospital, went, got xrayed, got plastered in a bad way, got told to go back in two weeks and that's where I'm at!

Jesus, that lot took me ages to type out one handed!

Now now Katie! At least you're ok hon!
Im sure that everyone would be asking why you didn't turn up at Soho on Friday night, so I thought I would pop this up so they knew.

By the way, if Plowsie comes down in the car, you could always try and bum a lift and come along?????

I won't say yes but I won't rule it out either....I've been popping pain killers like they're going out of fashion so I'm not always with it....

The last time I did my wrist I at least gave myself a bit of concussion so I couldn't register how much it hurts!!

Oh God girl, you take care!
Im guessing you are off work then?
Maybe if you are feeling strong enough and Plowsie does a no-show you can pillion with Mr VT or get Mr BC to bring you? (although I know you dont like to pillion...its better than nothing)
