Your doctor should be able to answer that question - they have guidelines - HTH

Fuel injected or carbed?

Try http://www.dvla.gov.uk/medical/ataglance.aspx but looking at it, it seems you cannot drive for a certain period afterwards (obviously) but you are normally fine from then if doc says so.

So basically, as has been said, talk to your doc and i'd guess yes, your doc needs to tell the DVLA. They'll tell the DVLA anyway if they feel there is a reason. Happened to a friend of mine who developed epilepsy, the doc informed DVLA and his license was revoked.

Is it a pacemaker or is it the device fitted for irregularities in the electrical charges in the heart (ICD I seem to remember).
If it is the ICD type device you will need to tell them and the DVLA will also be informed once you have had it fitted.
There will be a 6 month period after the fitting where you will have your licence removed and you will not be allowed to drive.
If it is the ICD which shocks the heart when pre programmed levels are breached you will also have your licence removed for 6 months.
Is it being fitted due to Tachycardia?

Missed a bit out:-

If it is the ICD which shocks the heart when pre programmed levels are breached you will also have your licence removed for 6 months everytime it goes off.

My grandfather has a pacemaker fitted and he had to tell the dvla about his condition, there was no hassle at all, just a wee bit of paperwork, Take care mate.
